    Communications Specialist Job Description
     
    Job Title:  Communications Specialist
    Supervisor: Executive Director
    Regular Hours: 40 Hours/week
    Schedule: Monday – Thursday 9 am – 5 pm / Friday 8 am- 5 pm / Weekends and after hours to represent the Chamber
    Wage: $17 / Hour
     
    Overall purpose and objective of this position: 
    Control the flow of information between Boardman Chamber of Commerce and the public, determine marketing strategies and direct public relations campaigns.
     
    Scope of Work:

    • Strive to communicate the chambers mission and vision to the public
    • Provide Social Media/ E-Newsletter / communication marketing to our members and community
    • Assist in photo editing, document design, marketing brochures and event flyers
    • Communicates strategies and results to the Chamber Board during monthly meetings
    • Assist with day to day operations of the chamber to maintain a team environment of all employees
    • Conduct research on Chamber Trends pertaining to Social Media platforms
    • Other work as assigned
    • Traveling periodically to attend speaking engagements, meetings, radio spots and events
    Preferred Skills:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs and Social Media knowledge
    • Possess strong organizational abilities and is highly detail oriented
    • Good writing and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrates an ability to maintain a positive attitude and outlook, even during a stressful situation
    • Outgoing and willing to work with people of all backgrounds
