    Morrow County School District is accepting applications for a Nurse – RN. This position is .75 FTE / up to 30 hours/week.

     JOB SUMMARY:

    Primary role is coordinating services and building partnerships with community/county/state agencies, that work with the Morrow County School District, to protect and improve the health needs of all students. In accordance with OAR 581-022-0705 the registered nurse works to promote the health of students through prevention, case findings, early intervention and remediation of specific health problems. Provide school and ESD staff with guidance, training and education with medically involved students, including students with special education and 504 plans

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility and essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Individual will hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable, insured transportation.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a four-year College or University preferred
    • Two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Hold a current Oregon Registered Nurse license or ability to obtain the license
    • First Aid/CPR training certificate
    • Valid Oregon driver’s license
    • TSPC licensure as school nurse preferred

     SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Displays knowledge of or is able to research etiology and characteristics of relevant medical conditions
    • Use knowledge of normal developmental sequences and learning patterns in the areas of sensory, motor, psychosocial and cognitive development to develop Health Management Plans
    • Prepares and maintains records, charts and reports including Medicaid forms
    • Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments and projects with a minimum of supervision
    • Effectively manages, evaluates and modifies needed school health programs and Health Management Plans
    • Completes Medicaid forms, as necessary
    • Instructs individuals and/or family members on various nursing techniques
    • Writes necessary assessment summaries and recommendations in a clear, informative and timely manner
    • Use assessment data to establish appropriate Health Management Plans, training goals and objectives or school services
    • Develops, selects and uses appropriate assessment tools and interprets results effectively
    • Writes necessary assessment summaries and recommendations in a clear, informative and timely manner
    • Uses medical information to inform school teams about potential medical results that will affect programming
    • Abide by all HIPPA laws and maintain confidentially of clients and services provided at schools and Umatilla County Health sites
    • Instructs classes on student Health Management Plans/protocols
    • Communicates clearly and effectively in a variety of situations, including difficult ones, with agency staff, district staff and the public
    • Provides service coordination to parents and children including referrals to other agencies for care issues, as necessary

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    .75 FTE - up to 30 hours/per week
    Bachelor’s Degree: $48,042 - $54,376
    Master’s Degree: $54,726 – $61,062

    RULE TITLE: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Teachers and School Staff

    RULE SUMMARY: The intention of OAR 333-019-1030 is to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 by requiring teachers, school staff, volunteers, and school-based program staff and volunteers who work in schools to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or request a medical or religious exception.
    Effective, October 19, 2021 teachers, school staff, volunteers, and school-based program staff and volunteers must provide the school or school-based program with either:
    * Proof of vaccination showing they are fully vaccinated; or
    * Documentation of a medical or religious exception

    The successful candidate will be asked to provide the documentation during the on-boarding process.
