    Position:         Chief Operating Officer (COO)
    Reports to:     Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
    Employment Classification:  Full Time Exempt
    Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000, Insurance, 401k Retirement

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    Administration and Finance

    • Works with CEO to complete accounting and bookkeeping, assist with all financial and business planning activities, including:
      • Assist with administer all financial plans, projects, and membership policy
      • Assist with business policies and accounting practices
      • Review and analyze financial reports with CEO
      • Support and advise CEO in decision making
      • Assist CEO to enforce and carry out policies and procedures
    • Explore collaborations, alliances, and other innovative approaches.
    • Complete quarterly TRT Reports, submit to City of Boardman City Manager with assistance from CEO.
    • Carries out public relations duties at state, regional, and local events.
     
    Human Resources
    • Work with the CEO to manage and oversee the human resource function for BCC, including:
      • Recruitment, hiring and compensation
      • Benefits administration and oversight
      • Professional training and development, including new employee and board orientation
     
    Operations
    • Information technology – working with contract IT personnel, ensure the ongoing maintenance and updating of information systems and infrastructure, including hardware and software are current.
    • Office management: oversee administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations of BCC.
    • Board of directors: working with the CEO, provide staff support and guidance to the BCC board and act as staff liaison to relevant board committees
    • Oversee all aspects of non-dues sales including, but not limited to, event sponsorships and advertising achieve desired levels of performance
    • Represent the Chamber when CEO is not able to attend an event, meeting, or conference.
     
    Membership
    • Work with CEO on recruitment and renewal of BCC Members.
    • Coordinate dues and non-dues sales and marketing efforts.
    • Assist CEO in managing the invoicing related to dues and non-dues operations
    • Managing all aspects of member fulfillment so that all members receive the benefits and privileges associated with their investment in the BCC.
    • Assist CEO in managing all events in a way that produces maximum revenue and profit.
    • Represent the BCC at all events, programs and on committees as needed
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by CEO
     
    Knowledge, skills, abilities, education
    • Previous management experience required
    • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources, IT, and legal matters
    • Skills should include organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development and strategic planning: demonstrated success developing and monitoring systems to manage both operational and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration
    • Excellent people skills and ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
    • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of the BCC
    • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions: demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
    • Previous sales and/or fundraising experience required
    • Excellent verbal and writing skills required
    • Strong computer skills and database management skills required
    • Ability to provide strong leadership and deliver creative problem-solving measures including, but not limited to, targeted deployment of BCC resources to achieve both financial and membership goals
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
    • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of businesspeople and volunteers
    • Flexible schedule with ability to attend early morning and evening meetings and events, included occasional weekends.  
    • Must own reliable transportation
    • Excellent attendance record with minimal absenteeism
    • Professional appearance and demeanor
    • Must have high school education
