    Operates a forklift to move product from receiving, storage areas to bins, and/or the production lines including Whole Peel Line, Peel Arena, and inside processing areas. Cleans equipment and work area and reports any food safety and employee safety concerns. Ensures there is an adequate supply of all product to dicer evenflow. Properly moves finished pallets into freezer and stores neatly. Moves finished totes into storage trailers or takes bins over to the IQF line of byproduct. The individual will ensure that whole peeled finished product packaging materials are ready at the line without stopping peeling and that all packaging is properly done. Supports all programs and policies that ensure that product is of the highest quality, meets specifications, and is safe, legal, and wholesome.

    • Follow company work rules and safety guidelines.
    • Unloads inbound trucks in accordance to BFI safety and proper unloading requirements.
    • Moves bins of product to the appropriate staging, sorting, and/or use areas.
    • Follows the sample procedures for raw product.
    • Repairs and cleans bins.
    • Cleans up the debris from the equipment and the grounds in the areas worked.
    • Records information as required for inventory tracking.
    • Does visual inspection of the product for foreign material or other concerns with the product and reports anything unusual to the supervisor at once and records information on the receiving report.
    • Keeps all cords rolled up when not in use.
    • Clean the conveyors, sizers, pilers, trucks, forklifts, evenflows to ensure proper function. Always use lock out procedures for safety.
    • Identifies operational and safety concerns on equipment that he/she operates and write up action plans.
    • Operates the piler, conveyors, sizing equipment, topper, and evenflows.
    • Stacks the bins with product in them, in order, by lot, and identifies each lot appropriately.
    • Ensures that the daily consumption report for the peeling line of product consumed each shift is accurate.
    • Loads finished product and handles the appropriate paperwork for outbound shipments as requested.
    • Assists Shipping Assistant with pulling product and ensuring we have the right product for the truck/rail car being shipped.
    • Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
    • It is not necessary for this position to do every assignment included in this job description although it is preferred.     Quality Reports all foreign material to QA department found with the product received. Raw product reports are accurate and neat. Samples of raw product from each truck is taken properly and taken to grading area and graded.

    Productivity Ensures production lines are not running out of product.

    Job Knowledge Has attended all required training classes.

    Availability One or less absence or tardy for each in 30 day period of time excused or unexcused.

    Reliability All product held on the lot is tagged properly for identification. Yard is kept clean and all safety concerns are dealt with promptly. Paperwork is accurately recorded.

    Independence Keeps work area clean and free from debris including forklift. Always notifies maintenance of equipment malfunction or damages as they occur. Keep cords wrapped up and cord covers for the forklift traffic in place.

    Initiative Does not have to be asked by the supervisor to do the job he/she is trained and expected to do. Adherence to Policy Adheres to all safety, conduct rules and company policies as outlined in employee handbook.

    Interpersonal Relationships Smiles when communication with others. Speaks about positive things when communicating with others.

    Judgement Makes good decisions regarding unloading of trucks and safety. Asks supervisor for clear instructions when necessary. Informs supervisor of any area of concern.

    High School Diploma or GED; or at least three months forklift driving experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to pass Forklift Operator Authorization.



    Ability to read two and threesyllable words and to recognized similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English. Ability to complete various paperwork requirements including English printing and math skills.


    Ability to add and subtract, divide and multiply six digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight and measurement.


    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
