    The Processing Operator operates and adjusts all process equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors line flow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.


    Job Description 

    • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs. 
    • Changes water knives as needed. 
    • Performs waste evaluations and changes grader screens as needed. 
    • Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed. 
    • Maintains even line flow. 
    • Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes. 
    • Communicates with other personnel:  line status, quality, and other problems.  
    • Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures.  
    • Must be able to work independently. 
    • Shoveling product spills. 
    • Completes production forms as required. 
    • Enters checks into computer. 

    Basic & Preferred Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Knowledge of plant operations and experience working around equipment is preferred.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. 
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. 
    • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
    • Tools and equipment used are as follows:  high pressure hoses, shovels, squeegee, hammer, and hazardous chemicals.

Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $23.65
