Processing Operator - West
Posted: 09/10/2023The Processing Operator operates and adjusts all process equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors line flow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.
Job Description
- Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
- Changes water knives as needed.
- Performs waste evaluations and changes grader screens as needed.
- Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
- Maintains even line flow.
- Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.
- Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems.
- Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Shoveling product spills.
- Completes production forms as required.
- Enters checks into computer.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of plant operations and experience working around equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Tools and equipment used are as follows: high pressure hoses, shovels, squeegee, hammer, and hazardous chemicals.
